Certification Type

Security Settings
This Maintenance is controlled through Group Security by the ‘Certification Types Maintenance’ securable.
Note: This is part of the Extended Suite of People Management. If you see the 'Certification Type Maintenance' available for selection under the Human Resources Maintenance, you have been granted at least some visibility through Security Access for this Maintenance.

1. Certification Type List
   Upon navigation into the 'Certification Type Maintenance', you will see a list of all configured 'Certification Types' available for selection within the 'Certification' card in People. Within this screen, you can search existing values as well as select the ‘New’ button to add new certification types.
   Note: The entries entered in this Maintenance then become available for selection within the Certifications card in People.

2. New
   To create a new 'Certification Type' click on the 'New' icon.



1. ID
   Fill in the short name.
   Note: This is a required field.

2. Description
   Fill in the long name.

3. Save
   Once you are satisfied with your selections, click on 'Save'.



3. Delete
   To delete an existing 'Certification Type', click into the one you would like to delete and click on the 'Delete' icon.



4. Confirm Deletion
   When the 'Confirm Deletion' modal generates, select 'Okay' to confirm deletion, or 'No' to return to the certification type without deleting.

Note: Within People, this field can be found by navigating into the Certifications tab. After selecting an existing certification or adding new, you will be brought to the edit certification screen. In this screen, you can see the field for 'Certification Type'.

Lookup Tool
Once this field is selected you will see the values configured within the previously described Maintenance available for assignment through the 'Certification Type' lookup tool.
