Setting Up Your Nine Box Analysis

How to set up your Nine Box Analysis.

  1. Create Scoring Classification
If you are using these Scoring Classifications for Nine Box they must be set to High, Medium and Low.
Note: The names can vary based on preference, but the system requires three levels to properly score an Employee.

  2. Setup the Scoring Definitions
Create a Low, Medium and High. Make sure to give them incremental values as the system will equate the values to High, Medium and Low. (I.e. Low can have a value of 1, Medium a value of 2, etc.)

  3. Create Criteria Categories
Only create a Criteria Category for: Potential & Performance.
Note: Make sure to use these names (Potential & Performance) in the Record ID or you will run into a problem later on. You cannot pick which criteria categories you want to map. The Nine Box Classification can only be used when mapping 'Potential' and 'Performance'.

  4. Create a Template
This Template must be specifically created for the Nine Box Classification but can house any criteria you choose.
Note: Just make sure to select whether the criteria is 'Potential' or 'Performance' for scoring purposes.
